Celebration of Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti
Description: Every year, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on October 2. This day marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma, originally known as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is the father of the nation. He was a political ethicist, a nationalist and a lawyer. Mahatma’s way of choosing non-violence to attain independence of the country against the British rule stands as an example for the world to drop the weapons and choose the non-violent way. Mahatma believed in the power of love and tolerance.
On October 2 every year, the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri who served as the second Prime Minister of India from 1964 to 1966. Right from days of being a seasoned freedom fighter to taking charge as the Prime Minister, Shastri continues to inspire Indians with his leadership style and humble personality.
The program was followed by the lightning of the lamp prayer, patriotic song, speech by Shobit Singh followed by patriotic dance. Vote of thanks was given by our honourable Principal Rev. Fr Sagaya Nathan. Making this day a memmorable one. Which was hosted by Ms. Arunima Singh.
